If you are thinking that this arc between the living room and the kitchen is very outdated and you have to change it, be still there! It turns out that arches are ideal for connecting spaces, although in recent years we have not valued them in their fair measure. We can see an excellent example in this house in which Clysa has achieved a cuisine with a strong Mediterranean spirit respecting the architecture and original building materials.
The kitchen it opens directly to a seating area through that sustained arch on two pillars that, without obstructing the vision, serves to delimit the work and office areas. Its natural luminosity, propitiated by the windows and a glazed door leading to an outdoor terrace, is enhanced by dispensing with partitions and applying a color palette dominated by white.
For the kitchen furniture we opted for Santos LINE-E model in White seff finish, a modern design, with a minimalist profile and straight lines that, with its smooth fronts and without a handle, are naturally integrated into the architecture of the house, offering maximum performance in the minimum space.
In contrast, the warm touch is provided by The Olmo clear island laminate countertop, the lamp with natural wood veneer and the ceramic floor pavement, which extends throughout the plant to confer uniformity to the environment. The integration solutions provided by the chosen furniture help to keep everything in its place, collected and out of sight, a key aspect in open kitchens.
Starting from one central island that works as a work area and office table, Clysa distributed the U-shaped kitchen furniture along three partitions. Thus, perpendicular to the island there is a composition of three low furniture that make up the cooking zone, complemented by a linear of four tall cabinets. Forming an L with the previous one, a second composition of low furniture houses the scrubbing area, located in front of the window to take advantage of the natural light entrance.
On the other side of the island, a four-column area integrates compact and organized appliances, pantry and storage spaces. With this distribution you get a fully equipped kitchen where everything is one step away, so that unnecessary displacements are reduced when working. Finally the ceiling furnishing from the tall cabinets and columns it allows to gain additional storage areas, taking more advantage of the available space.
In case you liked this kitchen as much as I do, I tell you that besides Santos's furniture it has a tap, sink and soap dispenser. White; dishwasher Honey; plate, oven and microwave Smeg; refrigerator and freezer Liebherr and extractor hood of Pando… A bit of everything.
The lighting in the project also stands out, especially the LZF suspension lamp and the Faro wall sconce. They are small details that bring personality to the whole and that make the environment much warmer and more welcoming than it would be if it did not have them and simply had recessed spotlights. It depends on the type of cuisine, but if we opt for very smooth and minimalist models, the details are important to create a feeling of home.
