A relaxing corner made with branches and pallets

When conditioning a outdoor space for relaxation, we can choose between assembling an expensive decoration based on furniture, pergolas and awnings, or take advantage of the ingenuity and the elements that we have more at hand and others that we can find in the street. This image that we have seen in Poppytalk is a good example of this last option, a corner with hippie reminiscences in which to take a nap in the shade of mid-afternoon or make a conversation after dinner.

The first point in favor is that you don't need large spaces to mount it. The surface it occupies is just over four square meters, and it is not necessary to have a very careful staging, that is to say, neither grass, nor platform, nor a particularly careful soil. We will take advantage of the natural soil, with its imperfections, its herbs and its hidden anthill.

The second step is to prowl for a work and rescue several pallets that have been discarded. A few layers of sealer and paint, water green in this case, and will be ready to offer a seat, once covered by a mat. For this you can take advantage of that old mattress that swarms from storage to storage, which nobody wants to throw but does not find a function. Here we provide you with decent employment.

Two long, rough and untreated branches support a toldillo, no more than two meters of fabric attached to the roof of the house. We strongly recommend using branches that we find already cut, never cut them directly from the tree. And if we do not find them, surely in a DIY store we can buy two slats that replace them.

Fluffy pillows will serve as a frame and support for the makeshift sofa, and as a service, some tables made of logging remains. A few wicker objects decorate this corner right on the edge of a lake.

As we can see, without investing hardly any money and with a little work, we can prepare a corner for the summer that invites laziness and relaxation.

Your summer enemy: Weeds (III)

The best defense is a good attack, and to avoid having to sweat under the sun in our garden to clean it of weeds, it is best to prevent its appearance. The fundamental thing is to prevent weeds from sprouting, depriving them of the conditions that facilitate their growth, which will be easy for you by following the steps we propose and remembering that agriculture has existed since time immemorial, so traditional methods are the most effective and , although in principle it costs us to bend our backs, in the end the result will be worth it.

Improve your lawn in four steps

Summer is the time when we enjoy the lawn of our houses but it is also the time when it suffers the most. Not only the high temperatures, but the incessant step over it end up undermining its beauty and, if we do not want to have a patatal for September (another thing is that you like it and you want to devote to the intensive cultivation of potatoes in your garden, which is an option totally respectable), we have to pamper this delicate part of the exteriors of our house.
