This is the first time that Ikea participate in Home Decor, although last December he already made his first foray into a Madrid event with his presence in Habitalia. As it has then chosen for this the most representative space of the Company: the kitchen.
Those responsible for the project are Lorenzo Meazza and Ana María Figueiras, who describe it as follows:
When we thought about this project we wanted visitors to feel inside a Scandinavian-inspired kitchen full of light and life. A simple and cozy space where a family with two young children lives daily and in which they enjoy daily activities such as cooking, eating, drawing or playing.
Indeed the whole environment breathes a clear scandinavian style, with a predominance of white that contrasts with details in intense tones such as gray, black or red, in turn combined with natural materials such as birch or linen. In addition, the space reflects functionality and emotionality in equal parts: the presence of children, their games and their works of art mark the emotional part and the distribution of the space and its interiors taking full advantage of the functional part.
Among the furniture and accessories we find many old acquaintances, but also new additions, such as the closet Ikea PS Sinka that we can see in the cover image, with drawers of different sizes in birch wood. Or the lamp Ikea PS Maskros which we appreciate below on the dining room table. A huge dandelion on paper that turns light into an explosion of joy, as we mentioned in the presentation of these products belonging to the new Ikea PS collection.
Precisely the illumination It is one of the factors that becomes more important in space, with a wise combination of colors, textures, natural light and that contributed by the luminaries of different materials: bamboo, plastic, glass and paper.
As we can see it is a space in which children and adults live in perfect harmony, where cooking is a pleasure, where everything is designed to be within reach and where the distribution and organization of the interiors respond perfectly to the functions that develop in space. Prepare the food and cook it, taking advantage of the aromatic herbs that grow in the small greenhouse built in the Luchana Palace viewpoint, make family meals or dinners with friends, games and children's duties or temporary exhibitions of small artists.
In short, a kitchen designed to be lived and enjoyed day by day, just as the Ikea canons send.
